From Templeton, CA Jessy Nelson was the first rider to join team Troy Lee Designs amateur division in 2010 with the help of his long-time sponsor Red Bull. Nelson turned pro in the summer of 2012 and raced in the AMA national series where he finished 9th overall and was awarded Rookie of the year. When the new Troy Lee Designs/ KTM partnership commenced in 2015, Nelson came out in a big way by winning Anaheim 1 and his first ever Supercross win. Nelson went on to finish the 2015 season with more podiums in Supercross and Motocross and also won the USGP at Glen Helen. Since the beginning Nelson has made an enormous impact on the team’s growth and success with his raw talent and charismatic personality. Nelson is now shifting gears and is continuing to play an important role with Troy Lee Designs as the team ambassador. Nelson is also working with the team’s amateur riders by sharing his past knowledge as a professional racer and giving back to the youth. Troy Lee Designs is very happy to continue their relationship with Nelson and have him work with the amateur kids because this is where it all started for Nelson and the Troy Lee Designs team.
