Troy Lee Designs Descends on Unadilla

AMA Motocross - New Berlin, NY

As the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Nationals hit the home stretch, the Unadilla Valley Sports Center was the next stop the schedule for the Team TLD crew. The iconic motocross facility in New Berlin, New York is rough, rocky, rutted and separates the men from the boys. While Malcolm Stewart continues to heal, the TLD team was represented on Saturday by Cole Seely, Jessy Nelson and Shane McElrath.

In the opening moto, all three riders were mixing it up inside the top fifteen as they circulated early on. Seely found another gear and took off for the front. His relentless charge took him all the way to seventh, where he would spend most of the race before slipping to eighth at the finish. Jessy climbed to around tenth position until a late tip-over would cost him positions and he would finish sixteenth. McElrath was hot on Nelson's heels for much of the race and when Jessy had his problems, Shane kept on chugging. He would finish tenth and set himself up for a good overall.

The second moto began with Seely inside the top ten and moving forward. However, in a scary moment for Cole and the team, he would catch his leg in a rut and pull in to the pits to have it looked at. His finishes were good enough for sixteenth overall on the day. Jessy was working his way forward from a mediocre start and after slashing and clawing for nearly forty minutes, he would reach eleventh position, which gave him eleventh overall. Shane didn't get the best of starts either but he rode solid, consistent laps and never gave up. His determination would put him in thirteenth in the moto and earn him tenth overall, his best overall finish in Pro Motocross racing.

The team heads to Indiana for the Ironman Motocross next weekend. It will be the first time the venue has hosted a National Motocross and the Troy Lee Designs team is looking to have a good showing at the new track. Be sure to come out and cheer on the Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / MAVTV / Honda riders as they fight with the best riders in the world for motocross stardom.
