The fourth round of the national motocross series is in the books and by this time you can usually tell where you stand in the class. For the Troy Lee Designs squad that is at the front of the WMX class and inside the top ten in the 250 and 450 divisions and in Mt. Morris, PA that is exactly where they finished.

Tarah Gieger started the weekend off right with a win in the opening women's moto. She did it with a third place start and a quick sprint to the front in the opening lap. She opened up a comfortable cushion and cruised to her first moto win of the season.

The second moto looked to be a repeat of the opening race as Tarah started near the front and found her way into the lead on the opening lap. However, points leader Jessica Patterson wasn't going to give up the win without a fight and with three laps to go she ran it in on Gieger in a turn. Both riders went down but Tarah would remount slower and be forced to restart her bike. She held on to fifth for second overall on the day.

"Obviously it would have been great to get the overall today," said Tarah after the second moto. "Still, it was my first moto win in a long time and a good step forward for me. I want to get a win and this weekend showed that we are making progress toward that goal. I'll take what we learned today and get to work for our next round."

The 250 class saw both Travis Baker and Jessy Nelson start around tenth position. With the fierce competition in the class both riders scrapped for thirty-five minutes and ended up about where they started, in tenth and eleventh.

The second moto saw Nelson in sixth off the start, however, a crash on the opening lap would relegate him to fourteenth. Jessy would claw his way back to eleventh for tenth overall on the day. Meanwhile, Baker started in ninth position and was looking good for a solid finish. As he was attempting a pass for seventh later in the race he lost his front end and went down. He would crash again a few laps later and cross the stripe in twelfth for thirteenth overall in the results.

Billy Laninovich was, once again, the lone soldier for the TLD team in the 450 class. Billy gated mid-pack in the opening moto but could never find his groove. He would finish in twentieth spot in the opening moto.

Moto two went much better for Billy, though he couldn't get off the gate well. His riding was better and he worked his way into sixteenth in the second go-round for nineteenth overall on the day. It wasn't what Billy was hoping for after coming off such a great ride in Colorado but he'll get another crack at it next weekend.

The entire team has been working hard to make progress throughout the season. With the ever-popular Budds Creek round this coming weekend it will be another good opportunity for the Troy Lee Designs/ Lucas Oil/ Honda team to shine in the prestigious outdoor motocross championship. If you are in the area please come by the truck to meet the team riders and get a signed poster.
