Joe Parsons Takes Silver in Snowmobile Freestyle at Winter X Games

TLD's Monster Energy athlete, Joe Parsons has earned the silver medal in Snowmobile Freestyle at X Games Aspen 2013 tonight on Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, CO.  Adding to his already impressive collection of Winter X hardware, Parsons, who hails from Yakima, WA, now has a collection of 10 X medals to his name.


The Winter X Snowmobile Freestyle event puts the eight best freestyle riders in the world head to head, facing them off in a two round, best score wins format.


Parsons was solid and consistent throughout, even earning the top spot through the early rounds of the night. His scores in the final showed that: an 88.66 and 88.00. The high scores were thanks to a bevy of technical backflip tricks including his trademark “gator wrestler,” a backflip variation that definitely stands out, and a trick that earned him the podium spot.


After taking silver, Parsons said, “I came out here [wanting] a medal—that was my goal in freestyle and I worked really hard to do that.  To come out with a medal, I’m pumped, man.  Everything went good… we pulled through and got a medal.”


Parsons’ successes at Winter X are commendable: he’s earned an incredible ten medals at X Games, including one last year.  Watch out for Parsons throughout the Winter X weekend as he’ll be back for more in Snowmobile Speed & Style and Best Trick.
