Premiere of Where the Trail Ends Draws Star-Studded Crowd
MTB Film- Las Vegas, NV
Mountain biking enthusiasts and cinema fans from around the globe now have the chance to share in the excitement generated last week at the world premiere of Where The Trail Ends, as the latest cinematic creation from Red Bull Media House and Freeride Entertainment is now on-sale at www.wherethetrailends.com.
The Pearl Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas was buzzing with energy as red carpet hosts Sal Masekela and Richie Schley welcomed big name guests that included film stars Darren Berrecloth and Andreu Lacondeguy, and Red Bull athletes Travis Rice and Steve Fisher, as well as Audrina Patridge (MTV’s The Hills), Bam Margera (star of Jackass), home run hitter Barry Bonds and DJ Jazzy Jeff, among others.
The launch of the most progressive and groundbreaking mountain bike movie of the past decade drew a crowd of nearly 1,800 fans as over 100,000 online viewers (and counting!) watched via the live stream made available on www.redbull.com/wherethetrailends.
“We’ve made a lot of films through the years. This one was a long time coming,” Berrecloth said. “It was definitely a big push – we had to deal with a lot of stuff, hiking, camping, not being able to have a shower. It was a big ordeal, a tough gig. We’ve always tried to push the envelope and we really had to dig deep as riders on this one.”
Where The Trail Ends is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and iTunes. The Blu-ray version is mastered in 7.1 surround sound using Dolby TrueHD providing fans the most compelling viewing experience possible.
For diehard fans, a limited edition Where The Trail Ends journal utilizing the best print and design techniques will be available while supplies last. The journal combines stunning photography with illustrations and stories from the road, providing incredible insight into the making of this film. Each journal comes in a hand-dyed bag and contains a few additional surprises. Only 3,000 hand-numbered copies will be produced and each includes a DVD, Blu-ray and iTunes copy of the film. Where The Trail Ends is the culmination of three years of travel to the farthest reaches of the globe, including the Andean foothills of Salta, Argentina, China’s challenging Gobi Desert, Nepal’s near-secret Mustang region, the unexplored shorelines of British Columbia’s Fraser River and Virgin, Utah - big mountain freeriding’s birthplace, and punishing proving grounds.
Where The Trail Ends’ storyline follows professional mountain bikers Darren Berrecloth, Cameron Zink, Kurt Sorge, James Doerfling, Andreu Lacondeguy and another half dozen of the world’s top freeriders in an extraordinary chronicle of exploration, chaos and culture, set amongst some of the globe’s most harrowing and remote natural landscapes. The entire cast was on hand at last week’s premiere to take part in the release of the multi-year endeavor.
Freeride Entertainment’s crews created the project’s remarkably compelling tone, footage and narrative using the most advanced film making and sound equipment ever used in the outdoor adventure sport genre. An array of transportation tools including jet boats, helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, as well as the riders themselves, helped provide a variety of unique perspectives for the audience.
