With the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series past the halfway mark, the summer and the points chase are heating up. The Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / MAVTV / Honda team went to work in Maryland on Saturday and fought tooth and nail for every position.

In the 450 class, Malcolm Stewart started around 15th in the opening moto and made a push to the front of the pack. Malcolm was all the way up to 7th position but had some struggles as the race wore on and finished 13th. After a short break and regrouping from the team, Stewart headed out for moto two. This time, things just weren’t clicking for the Floridian and he would pull out of the race completely after 20 minutes, giving him a 17th overall finish on the day.

In the 250 division, Cole Seely and Jessy Nelson were ready to go. Nelson didn’t get the jump he wanted in the opening moto and he spent 30 minutes and 2 laps working his way forward from 30th spot up to 15th. Seely also struggled to start well and spent the first moto eating roost and making passes. Seely would score a 10th in the first moto. Moto two served Nelson up another slow start and he was tasked with trying to move forward once again. He would score an 8th in the moto for an 11th overall. Meanwhile, Seely started in the middle of the pack and inched his way up to 9th at the finish.

The Troy Lee Designs crew is still awaiting the return of Shane McElrath who injured his back earlier in the season. With some luck, the team’s third 250 rider will join the group again soon.

The TLD riders wore the 2015 SE Pro and 2015 GP Air gear at Red Bud MX. Both lines, along with the 2015 Moto Helmets are now available online and at your local TLD retailer.
