I stumbled into the stunt world in the early 1970s. I started riding when I was 5, with my dad in the desert.
Where did you grow up?
The San Gabriel Valley
How were you first introduced to Troy? How long have you been riding for TLD?
I got Troy to paint a helmet for me when he was working out of a hangar at the Corona airport; it's gotta be twenty years ago. I haven't worn anything else since then.
List three goals you have for the upcoming season.
1.) Be in shape for Day in the Dirt
2.) Be in shape for Day in the Dirt
3.) Be in shape for Day in the Dirt
What do you like to do when you're not riding?
I like to surf and build things in my shop. I've just been welding and, as they say, you gotta burn to learn.
Do any riders influence or inspire your style?
I've always been a fan of Steve McQueen and Ake Jonnson fan and I love to watch McGrath at Mammoth.
What bands/music are you into?
The Dropkick Murphys and classic rock and roll, though my son is always getting me to listen to his stuff.
List a few highlights of your career.
You can check imdb.com and brandx stunts.org for the stunt stuff. And I'm proud that I've been an Ironman at Day In The Dirt every year the race has been held.
What's your favorite race/event and why?
A Day In The Dirt because it's a yearly reunion of all my friends and we get to see so many great pros. Mammoth because it's so cool - the track, the riders.
If you were running things, what would you change about theindustry?
I'll leave that to the pros.
What's your idea of an epic day riding?
The dirt's in great shape, it's not too hot, and all my friends are there.
What's the best thing about being a pro rider?
I don't have to work for a living.
Which TLD products are you using?
If you weren't a professional athlete, how would you want to spend your time?
I'd want to be a baseball umpire; that and keep welding.
Who would you like to thank?
Troy Lee for all the gear and good times, Kenny Alexander for being my friend and putting on Day In The Dirt, Rob Healey of N-Style, Dave Castillo and everyone at Asterisk, Garrett Kay over at Suzuki and Rich Taylor at XBrand Goggles.
Any words of wisdom?
Never sit, never heel, never beg.
