How did you get into speedway?
Well, I’ve been racing motorcycles all my life. My dad raced all his life and got me into it early. But I got into Speedway from a buddy who was riding once a week, so I figured I’d go ride with him for some fun and haven’t stopped since.
How old were you when you started riding?
I started riding motocross at 3 and started speedway at 17.
Where did you grow up?
How did you first get introduced to TLD and/or Troy?
I met Troy at Costa Mesa Speedway after I got a 3rd in the 2009 USA Speedway Nationals.
How long have you been riding for TLD?
I’ve been in TLD since 2004 when I first came to Europe to race for the USA Speedway Dream Team.
Which TLD products are you using?
Do any athletes/riders influence or inspire your style?
I wouldn’t really say my style. I try to keep it unique. But for sure I would have to say Greg Hancock for an influence.
What do you like to do when you're not riding?
Mountain bike, motocross, workout, and rally in my Subaru.
What bands/music are you into?
I’m into a bit of everything, so it just depends on the mood I’m in, or the mood I’m trying to get in!
List three goals you have for the upcoming season:
1. Help my teams I ride for in the UK to win the leagues next year.
2. Contribute to team USA qualifying rounds of the World Speedway Cup.
3. End the season with a higher point average than I did last year in both leagues.
List a few highlights of your career:
2011 - Factory Red Line Oil Team Rider, Workington Comets Team Rider, Swindon Robins Team Support Rider.
2010 - Factory Red Line Oil Team Rider, USA World Cup Team Rider, Lonigo, Italy, #1 Team Rider for USA Speedway Dream Team
2009 - Factory Red Line Oil Team Rider, AMA State Hillclimb Champion Pro-Am- 0-700cc, USA World Cup Team Rider, Daugavoils, Latvia.
2008 - USA World Cup Team Rider, Mishloc, Hungary.
What's your favorite race/event and why?
I’d have to say the World Cup events. It’s cool to travel to new places around Europe and having a team of all the Americans is always good times.
What's your idea of an epic day riding?
Getting a bunch of friends together and tearing it up all day!
What's the best thing about being a professional athlete?
Hmm. It’s all good! Traveling the world, racing all the time, great sponsors, and all the fans out there are awesome, so I don’t think I could pick just one.
If you weren't a professional athlete, how would you want to spend your time?
Definitely would have to be doing something in some form of motor sport if I wasn’t racing for a living.
If you were running things, what would you change about the industry?
I would get rid of the new rule about having to have these quiet silencers! And I would change the rule about Americans having to come into a British league on such a high average.
Who would you like to thank?
Gotta thank Mom and Dad for everything they’ve done and still do for my career, TLD for all the fresh gear, Red Line Oil for their support, and all my past and present sponsors that have helped me! And thanks to all of my family and friends for stickin’ behind me all the way!
Any words of wisdom?
When in doubt, flat out!
