How did you get into Mountain Biking?
Well when I was about three, we used to own some steep property in the Sierras near Fresno, Ca. and my dad would tow me around on the back of his bike up and down the hills. My mom says it was his fault for getting me into mountain biking!

How old were you when you started riding?
At age 10 while we lived near I-90 in Washington State, I would roam around the streets on my Pacific bmx bike while going to the local track!

Where did you grow up?
Mostly in Aptos CA, but I spent about a total of 7 years in Washington State.

How did you first get introduced to TLD and/or Troy?
When I was about fourteen, I started looking at jerseys. I had gotten a few Troy Lee Designs ones from friends and family.

How long have you been riding for TLD?
Since 2005.

Which TLD products are you using?
Moto Air blue Star helmet. Leatt Blue flame pad kit, Bodyguard 5900, Super Retro Jersey Orange / Blue, Black Moto Shorts, Knee and Shin 5440 Long.

Do any athletes/riders influence or inspire your style?
Graeme pitts, Keith Morelen, Curtis keene, Mitch Ropelato, Cody Kelly, Ben Craner, Christian Wright, Kevin Aiello, JD, Evan Turpen, Shaun Wilson, and everyone else who shreds!

What do you like to do when you're not riding?
Go to work at Epicenter cycling in Aptos CA, building and fixing bikes and go to college fulltime.

What bands/music are you into?
Dub step, rock, country, anything really!

List 3 goals you have for the upcoming season:
1. To compete and qualify in pro at the US open, Crankworx Whistler, Colorado, and a few select national races! Ride Whistler again.
2. Keep it fun!
3. Be injury free!

List a few highlights of your career:
2009 Overcame a severe illness (Inflamatory bowel disease), recovered and got back to racing.
2007 5th Snowmass Norba national finals as a junior age 15.
2006 4th Snowmass Norba national as a junior age 14.

What's your favorite race/event?
Bootleg in 2009.

What's your idea of an epic day riding?
When all my friends and I are shredding and having a good time!

Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank my parents Eric and Cary, if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here! Everyone at TLD especially John Barry and Karen Sorenson! They have been awesome in supporting me since I started racing. My sponsors over the years have all been incredible: Gabe Schroder at Smith Optics, Chris Costello at Formula Brake USA, Chris and Lance Canfield of Canfield Brothers. Gene Hamilton at BetterRide added much to my riding. Graeme and Leslie Pitts and also the Composti family have all been there for me.

Any words of wisdom?
If you are really passionate about it and do the work, you will eventually get there.
