Worth every penny!!!
by Ken Boskovich
I purchased this for riding at the bike parks. I was a bit hesitant since it can get pretty warm in Northern California during the summer months but I was willing to risk being a little uncomfortable for the added protection. To my delight, I was pleasantly surprised that this body armor is very comfortable. You may notice it, a little, when you are on the lifts but not at all when you are riding. It is very comfortable, breathable, and worth every penny. I would recommend to anyone looking for added protection, especially since it covers more than just the back and chest.
Excellnt protection in hot weather
Great protection in hot weather, got it for use on the double black trails after I did an endo into a big tree and scraped my back up pretty good, use along with the elbow/forearm and knee/shin guards. I went with the large since it is easier to put on and off without a undershirt especially if I am sweaty (so just a little loose, medium fit like a second skin, not tight but not loose), I am 6'2" 180 lbs athletic build. In hot weather I plan to wear it alone (no over shirt), but I can put my regular wicking t-shirt over it (and it is loose) and that will certainly help protect the mesh areas from tree bark and rocks.
Exactly the protection I was looking for!

I spend a considerable amount of time looking for an under-the-jersey protection shirt to replace my old school chestprotector. What I was looking for was:
1. a base layer protective shirt that offered coverage similar to a plastic chestprotector (shoulder cups and stomach/kidney protection). I race hare scrambles and wanted this protection in the event of a crash involving hitting trees/sticks/rocks/etc.
2. a shirt that was breathable and that I'd feel comfortable wearing during a 2-3 hr long hare scramble race in the 90°-100° heat of Summer
3. a shirt that was compatible with a neck brace.
4. a shirt that wasn't so bulky that it made me look like I weight 400 lbs.

The TLD 7850 ULTRA PROTECTIVE SHIRT was the only shirt on the market that I found that met my criteria. The foam pads are removable to allow for a neck brace to fit properly. The 7850 model provides full "mid section" protection of the vital organs. I absolutely love this shirt!
Comfortable and protective
Starting wearing this after breaking my rib last fall riding Downhill. It’s really flexible so I hardly notice I have it on and it’s not too hot to wear during the summer days. Recommend wearing a good wicking undershirt under it since it gets a bit sticky in the heat.
Confident protection that feels like you are wearing nothing.

I was looking for a comfortable armor that wasn't going to make me hot and this is the most comfortable armor I have ever worn. First off the shirt is very light and once you slip a jersey over it you'll completely forget you are wearing anything for protection. Not only that, but you don't all of a sudden look like an overweight linebacker riding a bike. I'm 6 feet and 190lbs and the large fits perfect. I have about 6 hours of riding time wearing it now and couldn't be happier with my purchase.
